We woke up early on Wednesday to pack and get ready for the flight to London. We settled up with the hotel and hopped in a cab. Our cab driver was very friendly to us, but was very aggressive towards all the other cars around us, definitely an experience. The flight was uneventful, once again we had three seats to ourselves. Rick slept most of the way, planes put him to sleep almost immediately. We breezed through customs and caught a very expensive cab ride to our hotel, the Grange Langham Court. It's a very nice place (though the rooms are a bit small), which is located a short distance from the Oxford Circus tube station. Very centrally located. We were both very awake, and it was only 2:30pm, so we decided to get a head start on our shopping and head to Regulation, a leather/rubber store in the East End of London. The first thing we had to buy was two umbrellas, as it was starting to rain. In contrast to the warm sunny weather that we had enjoyed in Berlin, London was gray, cool and drizzling. A sharp contrast, but not too bad, and definitely in character for London. |
![]() A balmy spring day in London... Two subway trains later and a short walk we arrived at Regulation where we proceeded to drop our jackets and umbrellas on the counter and then try on several items and ended up making a rather large purchase. I think we made the owners day. Afterwards we went back to the hotel, then down to the Italian restaurant on the corner for some tasty food. Afterwards we walked down into Soho and had a drink at the Admiral Duncan bar. Then we went back to the room and watched "Dogma", which turned out to be a really funny and witty movie. |
