Day 10: Gummi
Sunday, May 14, 2000

One thing that London is known for is a once a month rubber party named "Gummi". We had planned the trip so that we'd be there over that weekend, and now the day had arrived. We dragged ourselves out of bed around 6pm, had some food, and then got dressed. A quick cab ride and we were at "Central Station", near Kings Cross.

The club was relatively quiet when we arrived, but filled up quickly. It's a relatively small venue, so the 200 or so guys who showed up filled quite well.

Rick had been talking online to a friend named Richard which we had expected to meet there. There was a good looking guy standing to one side who looked vaguely like him, so Rick went over to find out. His named turned out to be Neil, a teacher from London. He was a nice guy (and very hot), and we had fun talking to him for a while.

He mentioned that the same bar has a once a month "sports" night, where everyone wears sports gear. He commented that if you threw a ball in the middle of the room on one of those nights, everyone would run, not knowing what to do. It's much more of a look thing.

We also talked with our friend Chris (from Friday night), and he introduced us to several other people. Chris is something of a regular, he seemed to know everyone there.

We stayed until around 11:30, then grabbed a cab back to the hotel where we watched a movie before falling asleep.
