It was a bit less humid, so the visibility was better.

Tuesday morning was sunny and clear, with somewhat lower temperatures (which would climb right back up by afternoon). After breakfast JP and Matthew went off to find an internet cafe in order to book rooms for their stay in London over the coming weekend.
For lunch we all walked down to the beach and found a nice air-conditioned restaurant with a much nicer menu than the standard fare at the other places. Even though the A/C broke down about half way through lunch, they opened the windows to the breeze and we had a very delicious lunch and some drinks.

After lunch we went back to the apartment to nap and read. Then JP and Matthew went to Benidorm o sit on the beach for a bit. On their way back they picked up a second fan to combat the heat at night (Rick and Randy snatched the first one the night before, placing it in the window and directing onto their beds... what a relief!)
After assembling the fan over cocktails, we decided to have our last dinner back on top of the hill in Altea.

Dinner was really nice. We drank, we laughed, we made fun of the accordian player (Rick made it clear they weren't getting a cent!). It was definitely an lively meal, and a very delicious one too.
Afterwards we walked (ok, some of us staggered) back down the steep hill to the car, then went home to sleep. Our flight left at 6:40am, so we needed a good nights sleep.
JP and Matthew drove us to the airport in Alicante. They were staying in Spain for two more days, then heading to London for the weekend. We said goodbye and then boarded a quick flight to Madrid. After a quick stop-over we headed for Paris, then to San Francisco. Our flights were on-time and two Ambiens helped us sleep for 7 out of 10 hours on the flight from Paris to SFO.

Ibiza is just off the East coast of Spain.

All in all it was a great trip, with Ibiza definitely being the high-point. We really appreciated the hospitality that JP and Matthew showed us by letting us stay with them. We had a great time partying, relaxing and just sitting around talking with them.
The four of us originally talked about taking this trip about two years ago, it was really fun to finally get to do it! I wonder where the four of us will travel to next?
