Mediterranean Cruise 2011

Arrived in Ibiza at 1pm, though we didn't leave the boat until around 7. Took the shuttle bus in to the center of town, then walked through the small streets and up to the top of the walled part of the city where we could see the ship and the town in the warm glow of sunset. Headed back down looking for food.

Deciding against the really touristy parts, Alex once again used Trip Advisor to find a really good restaurant, gotta love the iPhone when traveling! Dinner went until about 11:30, then we decided to go back to the ship for a bit before going out.

Around 1:30 we met for a martini on board, then took the shuttle to the club Privilege, the largest club in the world. The name of the night was Supermartxe. The place was really busy when we arrived. We grabbed a drink, then walked around looking for some space to dance. We saw an area by the DJ booth (which is surrounded by water!) that looked less busy, but there was a railing in the way, we decided to go around and realized that there was a bouncer specifically watching the railing to keep people from crossing it. He was a very hot guy and ended up essentially being our personal bouncer for the night, keeping the little area we were in less busy than everything else around it.

There was a totally over the top stage show, including acrobatics, almost naked women splashing in basins of water and a huge lighted backdrop with dancers on it. The music was fun and we all had a good time. At 5am we pushed our way through the crowd and made our way back to our shuttle back to the ship, easily making the 6:45am departure time.

Fortunately this was an "at sea" day and we took full advantage of it. We had had breakfast on our veranda at 10am, then we slept until 6pm. We had a simple dinner in the Windjammer, then met the rest of the gang for a 10:30 show in the main theater with Pam Ann. We had seen her in San Francisco and she was really funny. Afterwards we had a drink, then went up to the pool for a bit of dancing at the Bachanalia (anything Roman) party. Stayed for an hour or two, then off to bed.
