Dive Sites: Yellow Wall, West Wall, Blue Holes, Matt's Wall
Weather: Rainy in the morning, partly cloudy later on.
Between our first two dives we were moored just off Ulong Island where a season of the TV show Survivor was filmed. A group of us swam over to the island and walked around a bit.
After lunch we went to Blue Holes. We were dropped off on the top of the reef in about 10 feet of water, then swam down through 4 large holes leading down into the reef. About 40 feet down the four holes merged into a large cavern that extended down to about 100 feet. There was a very large opening to the side that emerged into the ocean on the wall. It was really spectacular looking back up into the sunlight and watching everyone's bubbles floating up.
On Matt's wall Rick was swimming along shining his light around when he noticed something looking back at him! It was two octopus, crammed back into two holes right next to each other. One was dragging a rock in behind it to try to hide. Silly octopus, you can't hide from Eagle Eye Rick!
At the end of our last dive we saw a Sergeant Major breeding area, with several dozen Sergeant Majors all vigorously defending their little patches of eggs, all of which were placed right next to each other.
