Saturday Morning - July 15, 2006
This was our early morning... we met outside the motel at 4:30am for our drive into the park. We drove to Saddle Bag Lake where Michael had arranged for a 5:15am boat ride. This was only the second day of the season that they had run the boat, the week before there were icebergs in the lake!
After the boat dropped us on the other side we walked a bit to Greenstone Lake to wait for sunrise. The mountains on the other side lit up a warm orange color as the sun hit them, making amazing looking reflections is the perfectly still surface of the lake.
There were also a few small ponds that had ice and snow on them that picked up the colors around us and made some great patterns. Some rocks thrown in the lake made fun patterns and Scahffer even picked up a thin sheet of ice for a cool portrait that you can see below.
After leaving the park we had breakfast. Afterwards Rick decided to stay at the motel for a bit more sleep. At the Mono Inn Randy joined the others for a general digital photography discussion and some details of sharpness and printing. Then Michael showed a bit of Adobe's Lightroom and Randy did a short demo of Apple's Aperture.
