Jim & Katie - February 2005

On Friday February 18th Rick's brother Jim and his wife Katie came down from Seattle to visit for the weekend. Saturday morning we all headed out for bagels, then drove south to Monterey to see the penguins and the great white shark. After lunch we headed back to Los Altos, then drove up to San Francisco. Rick got them checked in at the W, then we all caught a cab down to Blowfish Sushi for dinner. We had lots of fun talking and learning about Katie and enjoying the food. After dinner we headed over to Martuni's, a martini bar on Market Street. We had some great flavored martinis and lots of fun chit-chatting. Then we headed back to the W where we each got a nightcap to take up to their room for a little more laughing and talking before Randy and Rick walked back to the loft.

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then did some driving around looking at houses. Sunday evening Randy headed out dancing with some friends, while Rick, Jim and Katie went to the Thirsty Bear for dinner. Monday morning Jim and Katie drove around the area, including over the Golden Gate Bridge. Monday night we all had dinner in Los Altos. Rick made a delicious salmon dinner that was excellent. Tuesday morning Jim and Katie had a very early flight back to Seattle. The weekend had been lots of fun; it was really great to get a chance to hang out with the two of them. Hopefully we'll see them again very soon!
